Justice may be blind, but she has very sophisticated listening devices. ~Edgar Argo

Malachi have been spending a bit of time in Belltown lately, I love the old buildings and all of the character that exists here (in people, business, all of it!). Normal days involve taking the dogs (my friend Lisa's dog "Opus" comes along with Baby) to the Regrade Park on the corner of 3rd and Bell, then depending on if we are out of fruit we'll walk down to the market and it's a great 'mom' opportunity to teach Malachi about bad guys, and being careful, and crossing the streets, etc.
Today was RANDOM.  We were in the park, I was taking more pics than I usually do because I'm thinking about entering this photo contest to win a new flip phone that I saw advertised... so I was practicing my 'animal' pics... Baby and Opus were really being funny, they kept humping this little Chihuahua.  Because I was practicing, and because they are my dogs of course I had the most pics (out of a couple hundred) of those 3.

I was leaving the park at the same time coincidentally as the Chihuahua owner (I later found out might be "Duwanda") - Malachi, me and our 2 pups walked slowly behind because we were both shoeless.  (He is so my child). Anyways we turn into the nail place across the road from my girlfriend Lisa's apartment building and I convince M to sit with me thru a pedicure.  (my toes were pretty scary.)

As we walk in there is the chiwawa lady and her chiwawa!! I was surprised, and was going to let my 2 boy dogs play with her dog again, but because I felt bad that the poor thing kept being dog-raped I decided against it and went to the opposite side of the room and sat in a pedicure chair while I waited to begin my piece of heaven.  I wasn't really paying attention when Duwanda left, but soon after the shop owner ran out the door as she thought Duwanda had stolen a bottle of her nail polish.  As the shop was getting busier, and the shop owner was needed to get the clients seated, etc. so she walked back inside the store and the gal seated in the next seat jumps up as she notice that her 1.6 carat Tacori engagement ring had been scooped out of the ceramic dish that Duwanda had sat in.  GUH!!

Of course the bride to be was in tears as her ring had just gone missing! I was sitting in the chair and couldn't believe that I had pics of this lady! So I flipped my camera open and sorted thru them.  I had deleted some already, but did have a couple with her in them, and some really great shots of her dog.

If anyone knows where to find this woman, please call the Seattle police and let them know that you have information regarding Lindsey Meyer's stolen ring from 7.22.2011.  Such a sad thing that people can't set something down and turn their head and it's missing. :(  We also have info that Duwanda is a pill seller who is typically on the corner of 3rd and Pike in Seattle.  This pic was taken some time ago by someone commenting on Duwanda.

I'm not sure if it's her, as I didn't take the picture.  I hope the person who did take it doesn't mind that I borrowed it - but it's likely the same person. (today she didn't look so large though - and she was wearing a nice purple matching sweat suit... hmm...)

I hope this helps Lindsey! :) As soon as I put my pics from my camera I'll post them! won't be til tomorrow though...

hugs!

Sarah :)

Mariner's Fanfest 2011

Ever since Erik and I met 4 years ago we've always LOVED the Mariner's Fanfest :) This day was so fun... I say that in past tense because now the boys are SO much bigger!!

You gotta be a man to play baseball for a living, but you gotta have a lot of little boy in you, too.
~Roy Campanella

It's been so long since I've caught up on my blog! :) gonna put it on my checklist ... update blog. Sometimes looking thru photographs remind me how special the people in my life really are to me :) I can't wait to ONE DAY go thru all my albums of the memories me and the boys create with each other. I love these guys. :)

I've been trying really hard to get all my clients pics out lately that I don't do much of my own... technically I'm sort of on vacation still (I just got back from Chelan today!) so I'm gonna update the blog for tonight :) listen to my old youtube playlist... you know, the 'my favorites' one that you created if you ever listened to music in your office like me and our buddies at Metro did :)

My computer is completely FULL twice of pics, and I imagine digital pics are similar to the photos in the suitcase that my mom used to hide up in the loft... speaking of which, I still am scanning and sorting those :) eek! oh well - I have a couple of boys that would love to earn a couple dollars to buy some bey blades... I think I'm gonna do what my mom used to do, put em to work ;) tomorrow I have a quincenera with Norma - Malachi's Godmother... and like a sister to me. I'm excited because we have Malachi's suit all ready - omgosh he is a handsome child... he HATES dressing up though. He'd just rather be in his undies (the tighter the better... is this where the love for speedos and man panties comes from?) :)
off topic... anyways tomorrow I'm going to have Malachi help me with my 'schedule' as I find myself taking way too many pics than I need to - I can take 1/2 as many... but I figure, while we're both having fun, what the heck!? but then it's overload... so tomorrow I'm going to see if Malachi can take my schedule for me at the shoot :) he'll be there anyways - I figure he's old enough to be in kindergarten, so I'll have him be in my little helper Sarah school for the year :)

grandpa in the stars... :)

Four years ago my daddy died... it was such a difficult thing for our large family, as he was the original peace keeper of the household.  It was like what he said went, so without him... well, we missed what he had to say.

He was the best dad ever.  Every time it snowed he'd put on his clothes and take us all to build an igloo, I used to spend hours with him 'fixing' things in his shop.  And taking pictures was always super fun with him.  He was zoolander before zoolander was cool.

Love ya daddy :)

ps... all of these pics are on ritzpix.com if you'd like to order them for yourself, or if you'd like a cd of them please give me your address and I'd be happy to send you a disc of them.  These are pics that my mama had me scan for all of us kids.

a letter to a friend.

my heart hurts tonight :( I'm sad as a dear friend of mine battles with cancer discovering it just before the birth of her 3rd little sweet munchkin...  It makes me go thru our memories together inside myself.
I have hundreds of memories involving one of my childhood best friends Deborah.  I just love her so much (and her family).  Grade school, middle school, high school - those are such difficult ages on kids.  With the facebook/social networking world it's really crazy that we now are in such close contact with even someone you may have shared your most embarrassing, or most awkward moment with.  I can honestly tell you that of my facebook friends many are those whom I have done something absolutely embarrassing, or wrong, or sad things for, to, for and I'm conscience of that.  I made a lot of mistakes in my early teenage years (um, who doesn't, I haven't yet met a perfect person ;).  I have always felt sad and sorry for them, but you can't take back things that you do, you can only learn from them and be a better/different person because of them.  That's how I accept my faults anyways.

SO.  One night, like the rebel teenager that we were, we must have been 15 or so - Deborah and Rebecca and I used to always steal Anita's car and drive it to the Shari's and have coffee. (so sorry Anita, thank God nothing happened to our risky booties! :( ) so.  I think we must have gotten caught from time to time, because Deb and Reb's mom Phylis did NOT like me (I am so sorry Phylis, I'm sure you had every right not to! yikes!).

We'd go to Shari's sitting there drinking coffee at 2am, or maybe it was 3am, shoot, sometimes we would stay there until sunrise and just drink coffee and laugh, visit and then go home.  These twins were my little angels as I was having such a tough time that year internalizing some of the frustrations I was having as a young teenager.

One night was my favorite - and that's why I'm writing this :)

We were sitting there drinking coffee and one of us got up to use the restroom, or maybe walk around the diner - not because we knew anyone :) but more of to see who else might be interested in drinking coffee at 2am?  For conversation if nothing else :) I don't know which of us spotted them - I think it was me, but I could be wrong... it was a group of like 8 guys dressed so fantastically outrageous (which was a MAZE ingly cool to us then:).

One of them had this big hat on, like Dr. Suess, but a dark velvet... and they all had long shaggy hair :) It wasn't bad looking, just like a lot of shaggy's on Shaggy and Scooby to us. LOL.

They let us go on the tour bus out back of Shari's ... well, we didn't technically 'tour' it :) We stood on the step of the bus and peaked as far back as we could to see how a rock star actually lives.  Then the group signed our Shari's napkin and gave us a t-shirt and said their farewells :)  We wanted to give them something in return, for making our night so we drove or ran to the nearest grocery store to get them flowers to give to them (gosh we were such nerds! lol) but by the time we got back to the place their tour bus was earlier parked they were gone.

And we sat in the parking lot and smiled and laughed, and had one of the most fantastic nights in a 15 year olds little life... but the band wasn't one that we were super excited for :) We were really involved with Young Life at the time, and prayer groups were a weekly, if not daily activity for us... what were they going to think if we wear the tshirt this nice group of guys gave us during our adrenaline filled night :)

I specifically remember the only regret I had at the time was I didn't have my camera on me :) (thanks to google pics for helping me out w the images for my blog re: the Cult

that's the story I want to tell tonight about Deb, one of my sweet buddies who's courageously fighting cancer... for me blogging, sharing myself, makes my heart feel better as maybe I'm explaining and writing are such stress reliefs for me :)
I love you Deb.  I always have and I always will :) you have always been the truest of friends to me and so many... :) thank you :) Be strong in your fight, we are here to fight with you :) I can't wait to visit with you in a couple weeks ... it has been so long! :) xoxo

spanish :)

so funny :) when M was a baby and Norma lived with us we taught him most of his 'baby words' in spanish... I was worried for a bit thinking he wouldn't pick up English well as maybe he might be confused or something (I don't know!?) but he knows English just great, so that was a silly mommy paranoia for a minute I guess ;)

I just had a proud moment when I hear the boys in there talking and M's running around speaking his spanish and teaching words to Elijah in the living room ... CUTE!!

rings!! :)

we got our rings today!! :) well... erik got his anyways... it's so perfect! I love Erik so much... he waited to see me to show me and for even him to open the box.  For some reason it reminds me of the way we wrap presents for each other, in whatever blanket, or bag we can find around ;) I can't stand wasting money on paper, and he feels the same way...

when he opened the box he put it on, sort of the way you would put on a watch that just got fixed, but that you are used to wearing it everyday... and I was sort of waiting and watching to see if he would take it back off, and put it in the box 'until the day' ... but he didn't ;) tonight it was cute when we talked about if you are supposed to wait until the 'day' to wear the ring ~ or not.

I took a couple of pictures of them ;)
