My First Time...

I was super excited for Sunday this week... I had been looking forward to it for a long time :) it was... my first time... to the WOODLAND PARK ZOO!! OMGosh I can't believe I haven't been here before ~ I loved it! :)

It was a perfect mix of all of our sensories... my pics, Erik's love for nature, and the boys love... to be boys and rowdy and explore :)

they have quickly turned into best buddies :)

goodness... I might need Mr. Noet's help here... I can't remember what these little tree monkey guys were :) but Elijah was super excited to see them and I do remember they are from Madagascar!! :)

Erik and Elijah... hand in hand :)

He was so sweet... wanting me to take pictures of all the animals... I loved it!
there sure were some pretty birdies!!

we had some fun in 'Bug World' ... this was Malachi's favorite part of the day

our horror movie :) ... for some!?
no fear in our house!

these Gorillas were SO close to us! they were so human like... sort of eerie!

a fun pic :) the Gorilla was mooning us ~ the boys thought this was hilarious as they are into a 'potty talk is cool' phase ;) this has to end soon... right boys!?

today Malachi said an apple was his very favorite food in the world! not bad! an apple a day for Malachi! :)

we had to stop and say hi to Erik's dear friend Steve, the Elephant Expert at the Zoo

they've known each other for years...

it was really cute - during Steve's presentation he asked if anyone had any questions.  Of course a dozen kiddos raise their hands, our kids included.  After a bit Malachi grew slightly more impatient and stood directly in front of Instructor Steve with his arm straight in the air.
Steve: yes, do you have a question?
Malachi: yes I do.  Do you like my new AWESOME shoes!?

oh man :)

Elijah had a brilliant question... he's just getting so smart!

Elijah: How do Elephant's communicate?

We learned all about how elephant's have a below audible range tone that travels up to 5 miles that they communicate through as well as some other amazing communication facts about elephants! :) Nice work Eli! :)
